CONFERENCE INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

The conference will take place in Rimini from 29th to 31st August 2008.
The conference is organized by the American Committee for Asian Economics Studies (ACAES) and the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA).

PUBLICATION

The best papers will be published in special issues of the Journal of Asian Economics and the Review of Economic Analysis.

CONFERENCE VENUE

All sessions (including plenary sessions and panel), will be held in the Faculty of Economics (University of Bologna). It will be held in the halls in Via Q. Sella.

Meals will be in the same building.

All rooms are equipped with audio-visual equipment (computer, overhead projector, speakers) and wi-fi connection.

INFORMATION FOR CHAIRS

The role of the session chair is to make sure that the session proceeds in a timely and organized fashion. Please come to session 10 minutes in advance to meet the presenters and make sure there are no technical glitches.


The time allotted to paper presenters is 20-25 minutes, with 5-10 minutes devoted to discussion. Please make sure that each presenter stays within allotted time (do not hesitate to interrupt) and that each presentation plus discussion do not exceed 30 minutes.


The chair should direct the discussion by keeping track of the order of questions.

INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS

The time allotted for presentation is 20-25 minutes. Please make sure to stay within the allotted time to allow for discussion and out of courtesy to other presenters.

Please come to the session 10 minutes in advance to upload your presentation, which should be on a memory key. Presentations should be in PDF or PowerPoint.

If you want the presentation posted on the conference website, please forward it to Francesco Billi (info@boxstudio.it).

If you have not posted your paper yet, please be sure to bring 15-20 hard copies of your paper for dissemination to participants at your session.

No papers will be distributed by the secretariat but there will be wireless connection available and tables have electric plugs so participants may use laptops to access your paper and/or presentation.
